Hello and welcome!

My life journey is probably similar to yours. It has taken me down several roads – some clear, bright and beautiful; some twisted, dark and scary. I think I have always had a connection with God, even though I did not always acknowledge or listen to Him. I actually had an incredible spiritual encounter as a child, but I got older and spent quite a bit of time doing what I wanted; doing things my way. Although I am what is known as a “cradle Catholic” – I was born and raised in the Catholic faith – I honestly did not take it to heart. As time and life went on, I had specific experiences of God’s presence in the here and now. I became aware of the love He has and that He offers to each of us. I saw Him work in my life and in the lives of those around me. The more I witnessed Him, the more I wanted to be with Him; the more time I spent with Him, the more I witnessed Him in action. At a time when I needed Him the most, I found myself working in a church. I learned to rely on God. Through the church I met amazing people with deep faith. Since I lived far from parents and siblings, the community became my family. After several years, my parents came to a point where they were in need of assistance, so I moved back to give them a hand and that is my current situation. I am now travelling another unbeaten path in my life and trusting God at every turn.

In 2013, as I was caught up in the current of social media, I found an awful lot of negative influence. And I found it pretty easy to get sucked up into it. Spending too much time there resulted in anger, hurt, and hopelessness. I decided that not only did I want to help myself stay in a positive mindset, but I wanted to contribute something that spoke of the beauty in life. Enter God. As I prayed about this, it became apparent that those feelings of despair, anxiety, and pain are intensified when God is not in the picture. I decided to blog – not even knowing what that really meant – about how “I Found God Today”. The blog was attached to the church website. As I moved away, I decided to move my blog as well. My life is completely different now, but I am “Still Finding God” every day.

I hope my entries will encourage you to begin or continue to grow in your relationship with God – regardless of your current life situation. He remains the loving Father that He has been since the beginning of time and has created you and me from that love. We just need to keep our eyes, ears, and hearts open so we can be aware of His presence around us. He is not far – He is here – go and find Him!
