Yesterday when my mom and I were driving back from the hospital as we neared the house, we spotted a large bird flying across the street. I stopped to watch and we could see the prominent red tail on the hawk. It flew to the fence that surrounds our complex. I tried to get a good look at it and to me it looked like a young bird. It was somewhat unstable on the rod iron fence and only stayed a few seconds before flying back across the road where it landed on a tall light post. By this time it was behind us and I wanted to get mom home, so we didn’t investigate further. It was a joyful sighting that made us happy to know there was still a red-tailed hawk in the area.
