Today my family celebrated my sister’s birthday. She and her husband recently bought a house and land – sort of a mini-ranch. They have been doing a lot of repairs and improvements before they move in. After we had lunch together, my sister talked about how excited she is to live out there and work the land. She said she knew she wanted to be a farmer when she was very young. My mom and she reminisced about going to the botanical gardens together and buying lots of plants for her to take care of. Then we gave her the presents all wrapped in flowery paper. The first one was a wall hanging that read, “I Would Rather Be In My Garden”. Very fitting. The additional gifts were a box to store seeds, garden gloves, and a garden themed book about nurturing your soul. Then out came the cake – appropriately decorated with flowers. I guess we nailed it. We talked about our childhood dreams and how it seems that when we live those things, we are the happiest and most productive. I firmly believe that whatever we are meant to do in our life is planted deep inside of us from the very beginning of our creation and when we follow those promptings, we are most fruitful.
I Found God today in celebrating my sister and a reminder that He has a beautiful plan for our lives.
