Love is Patient . . .

One of my favorite scriptures was read at church today – 1 Corinthians 13:1-13. It includes “Love is patient, love is kind . . . ” These words remind me of how I should be conducting myself. It also reminds me of how I should be treated and not to allow myself to be run over or abused. The deacon at church said we can replace “God” for the word “Love”. This makes sense, since God = Love. “God is patient, God is kind . . .” I thought about that and realized how true it is. In my own experience I have found that God has always been gentle with me. Things do not always turn out the way I want, however God has been there with me and for me lovingly guiding me along. Whenever I have felt in turmoil, anguish, or fear, I have cried out to God and He has brought me peace – either immediately, or a little at a time as I continued to go to Him.

Love is patient, love is kind. It is not jealous, [love] is not pompous, it is not inflated, it is not rude, it does not seek its own interests, it is not quick-tempered, it does not brood over injury, it does not rejoice over wrongdoing but rejoices with the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

I Found God today in a description of Love.
