Today I took some time at home while my dad, sister and others visited my mom. I thought it would do me some good to take a little break, but I just kept thinking about her. I went out and took a little walk which always helps to clear my head. When I got back, one of the ladies from the housing complex was driving by and she stopped to ask a question about another neighbor. I didn’t know who she was referring to, so I couldn’t be much help. When she realized who I was, she talked about when she was helping her parents and at times, she didn’t know if she was going to be able to make it through. As she held my hand she said I would never regret this time. She quoted Luke 6:38, “Give and gifts will be given to you; a good measure, packed together, shaken down, and overflowing, will be poured into your lap. For the measure with which you measure will in return be measured out to you.” She said that’s a pretty good promise. She told me that she understands how difficult things can be as her husband passed away a few months ago after a long battle with cancer. Words of spiritual wisdom just kept coming. I hadn’t told her much about my mom’s situation – just that she is currently in rehab. Her words spoke to my heart and I doubt if she knows how much that little encounter lifted my spirit. I know God sent her to me – 30 seconds earlier or later and our paths would not have crossed.
I Found God today in a perfectly timed spiritual encounter.
