When I was working at a church, I met many priests and several seminarians who were working their way to becoming a priest. A few years ago, one particular seminarian became a priest and much of the staff went to his ordination. I visited him a few times at the church where he was the associate pastor. A couple of days ago, I received a Facebook invitation from him and a different parish. I looked it up today and saw that he is now the pastor of the new church. The parish has a wonderful website and I was overjoyed to see a video of him welcoming people to the church. There was also a video of his homilies, so I watched the one from yesterday. He spoke wonderfully, referring to his tablet only to quote scripture as he paced and spoke directly to the people. His message was about realizing that we don’t know everything, we aren’t perfect, and we need to admit our weaknesses and faults. More to point, we are sinners, we need to admit those sins and ask for God’s grace and forgiveness. It was really wonderful to see how much he has grown in his vocation. I could feel his energy, passion, and enthusiasm right through the screen. It is clear that he has relied on God to direct him and he will touch the hearts of many more people.
I Found God today seeing how He has formed a wonderful young man to spread His message.
