Today is the anniversary of when a friend of mine became a priest. I thought about this and remembered the day of his ordination. I had known him only a year or two at the time, but he had already made a big impression on me. He would come to retreats and talk to the kids about how he used to be a reporter and show them videos of him at his previous job. Over the years, he became a spiritual adviser that I would lean heavily on in times of trouble. More recently, he helped me to discern the decision to move to be with my parents. We are pretty far away from each other now and I miss him tremendously. But I know that he is making big impressions on many other people. I am grateful for his commitment to God and those he serves.

I Found God today in thinking about a good friend who is a wonderful priest.
