True Kindness

Before taking my road trip back in May, I took my car in for an oil change and to check things over. At that time, they said I would need new brakes when I returned. But, for the past few months, I have just been busy doing things and didn’t make the time to take it in. The past 2 weeks the sound coming from the back brakes has been terrible. With all the busy-ness of the wedding, I needed my car and just prayed that it would make it through without horrible things happening. Thanking God that it did. I took it in today. I took advantage of their transport service to take me home. There were 6 people in the van, and I was the last one to be dropped off as I lived the furthest. Everyone was more than friendly. One older gentleman had an oxygen tank. The driver and other passengers helped him in and out. After we dropped off one person in his community, the driver was looking up directions for the next person when a woman from the community approached and asked if he needed help finding an address. Everyone in the van was patient and kind to one another. They talked about how much they appreciated the repair shop and how long they had been using it. The driver even knew a couple of them and remembered past conversations as he had been working for the company for many years. That made me feel better about leaving my car in their hands. I have noticed that when there is some sort of recent tragedy, the people that I come across seem to be trying hard to be exceedingly kind. Perhaps it is just my perspective. Either way, it was a breath of fresh air to step away from the media and get out into the world to find honest, patient, considerate, real people. To me, the only answer to quell the negativity is in a respectful, loving, person to person connection.

I Found God today in true kindness.
