Tonight I went to the church where I prayed the Stations of the Cross. They had a fish fry after. I debated whether I wanted to stay as I looked around and didn’t see anyone I knew. I was very much looking forward to the food, so I decided to stay. I chatted a bit with the people in line. After I got my fish and fries, I decided to sit at a table with a few people. I figured I might make some new friends. But as I was making my way over, I saw an older couple sitting by themselves, so I asked if I could join them. We had much to talk about. Both people worked at the same company that my ex-husband worked for. The gentleman grew up on a farm on the east Coast, so we had that in common as well. I told them about caring for my parents. The gentleman told me about when his father died, and he was able to talk to him and tell him how much he loved him and loved growing up on the farm and working with him. His parents could see that there was not a future in the farm, so they made sure the gentleman went to school and college so he could get a good job, which he did. He was grateful for the sacrifices his family had made for him. I was so glad I stopped at their table and visited with the couple.
I Found God today in the lovely stories from meeting new people.
