My mom’s friend came over today as usual to visit, play the piano, and have lunch. My mom and I surprised her, my dad, and brother by playing a duet that we had been practicing over the past few days while my dad and brother were out of town. I haven’t actually played a piece in quite a few years. It took a little while to be able to read the notes quickly enough to move my fingers. My mom gave me a some guidance and encouragement along the way. The very easy duet sounded pretty good and everyone generously gave us a round of applause. Now that I’m warmed up, we’re ready to move on to the next level. I feel so blessed to spend time with my mom this way and hope some of her knowledge and talent rubs off on me.
