God’s Waiting Room

Today I heard from a faraway friend. She and her husband and I actually spoke to each other on the phone for about an hour and a half, which was really pretty easy to do. Of course, we caught up on what is happening with our kids and grandkids. Which brought us to the fact that we are getting older. We may be living in the “last quarter” of our life – time to punt! It’s funny, or maybe not, that my siblings and I were talking about aging in our weekly Zoom conversation yesterday. People we know even younger than us are having physical issues or catastrophic medical events. My brother said living our age and above is “God’s Waiting Room”. I kind of liked the analogy – waiting to meet God. At the same time, we don’t really know how long our lives here will be, no matter what our age is. Talking with my friends who are very active, we agreed that it is important and necessary to do the things we can do while we are able to do them. In the whole big scheme of the universe and eternity, our lives on Earth can seem insignificant. Which gives all the more reason to live best we can being present, loving and caring for one another, remembering that we are all waiting to meet God.

I Found God today realizing I am getting older and the importance of living loving.
