I get very excited when I receive a notification from the camera at the cabin – especially when it includes the description “Pet Detected”. Usually I see deer, turkey, fox, or an occasional coyote. Once there was a bear in the driveway attracted by some trash that was left in my brother’s truck. When I heard the notification last night and saw “Pet Detected”, I was anticipating what I might find when I opened the app. There, crossing through the snow in the driveway was a beautiful mountain lion. I had to watch the video over several times to make sure that was what I was actually looking at. Then I sent it with my family. As we were sharing our excitement, another notification came through. There was a second mountain lion, following close to the same trail as the first. I had heard that the big cats lived in the area, but in all the years I have spent at the cabin, I have never seen one. To see two was just amazing to me. Even though I wasn’t physically at the cabin, it was so wonderful to see the mountain lions in the wild right there. I had so much fun sharing the video with everyone I saw today.
