My son and his wife have been visiting a couple states in the Southeast, looking for a potential place to settle down in the future. While they were gone, they boarded their dog. She has stayed at the place a few times in the past, but always gets very nervous. This time she was taking out her anxiety on other dogs, and the kennel said she had to be dismissed. In other words, they kicked her out. My son called me on Friday to tell me what had happened and asked if I would be able to go pick her up. It worked out that I could. She has spent plenty of time at my house, so I didn’t think it would be a problem. When I arrived and they brought her out, she wasn’t even happy to see me. She just wanted to get out of there. I felt so bad for her. She seemed to relax a bit when she got to my house. I have never had her spend the night, but thought I would try it instead of bringing her to my son’s house and spending the night there. I got out the blanket that she used in the past, fluffed it up, and put it on the floor in my room. She was pretty happy with it. We both got a pretty good night sleep. Yesterday, her anxiety started showing itself with stomach issues. I won’t elaborate, but I had to run her outside to go to the bathroom every hour and a half or so. My son and his wife were driving back home and I spoke to them a couple of times. Evidently, this was a normal thing for her after being boarded. By the afternoon, I had enough and brought her over to their house. She was so happy to be home. They have a nice fenced in back yard, so I left the sliding door open so she could come and go as she pleased. She still had tummy issues, but at least she could let herself out and I didn’t have to keep running her out on a leash. My son talked to the vet just to make sure she didn’t have to go to the emergency vet. They suggested feeding her chicken and rice, which had helped with the same problem in the past. I made up a batch at my house before we left and gave her some for dinner. After she seemed to settle down even more, I made myself cozy on their sofa. They got home about 11:00 pm. Their dog was so happy to see them. I went back home to sleep in my bed. That disruption along with the time change really threw me out of sync today. My son said the chicken and rice did the trick as in the past and that their dog was doing fine today, other than being very tired. I was glad to hear that. Being very tired myself, I am looking forward to getting into bed.
I Found God today in calming after a hectic day.
