A friend of mine reminded me that 30 years ago, our mutual friend was ordained a Deacon. The celebration was in Rome, as that is where he was in seminary. She shared some pictures of the ordination and of our friend with his family with a huge smile on his face. There was also a photo of him with St. Pope John Paul II. He has said in the past that meeting this Pope was one of the highlights of his entire life. Our friend who is now a priest is such a faithful, caring, considerate, generous man. I feel very blessed that he is my friend.
