Move Over

My mom and I talked to my sister tonight. She worked hard to get her place sold and everything taken care of. The last few days before the closing were a crazy whirlwind. After my son and I helped her, she said she would be able to take care of the rest, so we left. The day before closing, she went to the place one last time to get the remaining few things out of the house. She was able to pack up her son’s SUV which had been in the shop and make it out of the house just before the cleaners came in. She was on the road for only about 15 minutes when the vehicle overheated. Luckily my other sister who lives in the area was able to rescue her and the cooler of food from the refrigerator among other items. There were several other things that happened that just added to the stress of the whole ordeal. The next day the sale happened. My sister was so relieved to have the papers signed and cash in the bank. The day after the closing, she flew out to visit her son in the Navy and spent the weekend with him. One of the pictures she sent was that of a red convertible Camaro. Evidently, the rental company didn’t have the car she reserved, so that is what she got to drive around the coast in. I felt that might have made up for the bad car experience just 2 days before. The pictures reflected how happy she and her son were. After the long weekend, she was back to work. Now she is in her new apartment with a new sofa that she has always wanted and trying to unpack a little at a time. My mom and I were so happy for her that the stress of her house selling ordeal was over, she had a great weekend, and now she can be more relaxed.

I Found God today in joy for my sister.
