Rest and Reflection

I have been super tired the last couple days, so I was very happy that our friend came over today to stay with my mom for a couple of hours. I visited my son and his wife who are celebrating their 20th wedding anniversary today. Then I spent some quiet time in church as I attended Mass for the Feast of the Nativity of Mary. When I got back home, mom and our friend said that earlier in the day my mom got out her magazine I bought her about Queen Elizabeth II celebrating 70 years of her reign. My mom has always loved following her life story. They looked at the magazine for only a few minutes when our friend received the news alert on her phone that the queen had died. That was pretty strange. My mom said the world has lost a wonderful woman. She remembered that when she was a Sophomore in high school, Queen Elizabeth got married. The school brought in a TV so everyone could watch the celebration. My mom also remembered the year that she and my dad were at a visit to one of the palaces in England. As they took their tour, they saw the Queen. We watched a little bit of the news coverage tonight. Our favorite quote from Queen Elizabeth II was, “It has always been easy to hate and destroy. To build and to cherish is much more difficult.” She was a peace promoter and a woman dedicated to her job, her country, and her family.

I Found God today in rest and reflection.
