At lunch today, my mom and her friend were reminiscing about their time working together. They met about 50 years ago and collaborated in music ministry for a somewhat new church. The congregation initially met in a school, then moved to a temporary building, then built a church. My mom was the organist and her friend was the choir director. During their 20 years of ministry there, they saw the church grow and did their best to help the new church set up a wonderful music system with an organ. They struggled to have their voices heard as the new church wanted guitars and drums and piano and such. My mom and her friend even sold donuts after Mass to help raise money for the organ. They and the choir led the congregation in beautiful, traditional Mass music all that time, and were never even paid for their service. They worked hard for their love of music and their faith.
I Found God today inspired by the faith of my mom and her friend.
