In the past couple days, I have seen 2 friends unexpectedly. Both of them had husbands who had Parkinson’s disease. I met them at the exercise classes that I used to take my mom to. While our people were exercising, we would go for a walk and talk. That was many years ago. We have all lost our love ones since then – 5 years ago, 3 years, and almost 2 for my mom. When I saw each friend, we talked about the pain and struggle that all of us experienced – that is to include our our loved ones. And we shared how we are trying to build our lives again after the deaths of those we spent so much time caring for. We have a connection that will last forever. As I remembered our times together, I was so grateful for the support that we were to one another. God truly put loving people in my life. It was heart warming and healing to see each of them and to talk about our experiences.
