I was telling my brother all about my trip today and updated him on the family members I visited. I thought about how each person lives their lives in an ordinary way, yet are caring, supportive, and making a difference in the lives of those around them. One cousin is a devout Catholic and has 3 daughters who all sing. I heard a recording of them practicing for an event, singing a hymn as an Acapella trio. It was breathtaking. Another cousin spent hours scanning the genealogy books that my parents made so they can be shared with the rest of the family. He and his wife moved closer to their daughter, partly to help her manage the kids, which they love doing. Another cousin and his wife are amazing supporters of their newest granddaughter who has Downs Syndrome. One is supporting the Sisters at her parish. And another is basically on call to help her daughter, her father, and my aunt. I learned something from each person I visited. And they were all incredibly generous to me as I traveled around. They brought me to new places, I had new experiences, and I tried new foods. I am very grateful that they are all part of my life and that I got to see the different ways they are impacting the world around them.
I Found God today admiring my generous family.
