Yesterday my son who moved further east flew in for a visit. It was a surprise to my other son. Their birthdays are 3 days apart and they enjoy spending it together. My older son took a video of him surprising my younger son who was really completely shocked when he saw his brother in his house. I feel blessed that they are so close. Since my younger son was turning 33 years old today, it was an occasion to have a Lord of the Rings party. Evidently 33 years is the official age for a hobbit to be an adult. My daughter in law worked hard at getting all the friends invited, getting everything organized, and even making a cake. I don’t know how she managed all of it having to give so much attention to the baby. But her mom helped a lot and my sister and I made some food and went over early to help out too. The food was themed also – I made a Mount Doom out of pumpkin brownies. Most people wore  Lord of the Rings costumes. My sister and I had fun dressing up too and wearing pointy ears. One person had a full Legolas costume. One couple was Gollum and the One Ring. A couple brought their 2 little ones who were hobbits. My new little granddaughter even had a little hobbit onesie costume. Of course it was adorable. A good time was had by all. I especially enjoyed being with both of my sons.
